DayBreak An Adult Day Program, Day Care Adults, Woodland Park, CO

Paula Levy

President - Board of Directors

Founder and Key Staff Member

With a genuine passion for elder care, Paula Levy has dedicated the past 25 years of her life to making a difference in the lives of those living with an Alzheimer’s diagnosis, as well as their family members.  A graduate from Pepperdine University with a BS in Leisure Science/Recreation with an emphasis in geriatrics, she has worked as an Activities Therapist and a Nursing Home Administrator at Namaste Alzheimer Center in Colorado Springs. She developed, implemented and managed the Adult Day Program at both the primary facility and a satellite branch.

Since moving to Woodland Park in 1999, Levy has volunteered as facilitator of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Family Caregiver Support Groups in the Teller County area. The association honored her with its Volunteer of the Year award in 2012. For four consecutive years, her Alzheimer’s related presentation for the Greater Woodland Park Chamber of Commerce Lunch and Learn series regularly has been one of the program’s most popular sessions. Clearly she is the ideal person to serve as the director and is thrilled to lead DayBreak – An Adult Day Program into fruition.

Paula is one of 3 individuals in the state of Colorado who has earned The Positive Approach to Care Certification from Teepa Snow, one of America’s leading educators on dementia.

Mary’s leadership of Prospect since November 2003 has insured the fiscal and legal accountability required to successfully serve a mountain community with three highly regulated healthcare programs.  Her unique combination of experience, executive accomplishments, and medical program knowledge, with efficient and compassionate service has contributed to greater medical care access throughout the Ute Pass Region. Mary thrives on community involvement and believes she is privileged to be a part of Prospect and improving life for her friends, families and neighbors.  She is devoted to coordination and expansion of health care services and works with all partners to maximize success, and is one of the directors of the newly formed Golden Bridge Network in Teller County.

Charles Oaks

Retired; Former DayBreak Family Member

A native of Colorado Springs, Charlie is a graduate of the University of Denver and has a distinguished 40 Year career as a banker in Denver and Woodland Park. He has participated in the formation of "Voices of Grief" that also provides a compassionate and valuable service to our community.  Charlie also was The Chamber of Commerce "Wagon Boss" (2009) recognizing his service to the community.  In his banking career he enjoyed the unique opportunity and privilege of participating in the growth and development of the many individuals and businesses that this bank was privileged to serve.

Most importantly, as a longtime (20 Years) family caregiver of his wife Helgi, Charlie found DayBreak so instrumental in providing them both the respite care they needed up until his wife's passing in August of 2016.  He remains a great supporter of DayBreak and the services it provides the Teller County communities.  Charlie states that he "is honored to serve on the board of directors so as to be a "testimonial " for the DayBreak program and the services it provides for both the caregiver and their loved ones."  The mission and support of DayBreak provides a positive  impact on the caregiver and the care-receiver.  For these reasons alone he chose to be on the Board of Directors  to help make more public the fact that this valuable program is available in our community and how beneficial it is for all who participate.
